    Job Summary and Qualifications

    We are currently looking for an ambitious Lead Pharmacy Technician to help us reach our goals. As our Lead Pharmacy Tech, you will provide your expertise and be responsible for the oversight to Pharmacy Technicians. You will also perform technical duties related to preparing and dispensing drugs in accordance with the standard procedures. We prioritize patient care.     What you will do in the role:

    • You will prepare and dispense prescribed medications, drugs and other pharmaceuticals under the supervision and direction of the Clinical Pharmacist in an accurate manner.
    • You will perform quality control/auditing functions to ensure that medications are appropriately available to caregivers.
    • You will assist Coordinator Pharmacy Inventory in ensuring that the department has the necessary supplies, equipment and stock needed for daily operations.
    • You will actively contribute to and work towards the hospital wide improvement in meeting core measures, patient safety and service excellence goals.

    What qualifications you will need:

    • High school graduate or equivalent (GED) and completion of Pharmacy Technician Program.
    • Minimum 1 year of experience as Pharmacy Technician with previous leadership experience strongly preferred
    • Current FL Registered Pharmacy Tech; Pharmacy Tech Certification (CphT) preferred
    • Overall Pharmacy knowledge including medical terminology and prescriptions drug names. Excellent customer service, interpersonal communication, organizational skills, pc skills, analytical abilities, and clerical skills.

We are the only state-designated Level II trauma center in Manatee, Sarasota and DeSoto Counties. We have received verification by the American College of Surgeons. Our services include 24-hour emergency care, open-heart surgery, burn care, cancer care, joint replacement and inpatient rehabilitation.
