About the Role:
J and L Family Daycare in Chicago, IL is looking for a passionate and nurturing Lead Preschool Teacher to join our growing team! This is a wonderful opportunity to make a lasting impact on young learners in a warm, family-centered environment where every child is valued and celebrated.



Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement age-appropriate, developmentally focused curriculum for preschool-aged children
• Create a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment that supports early childhood development
• Supervise and guide assistant teachers and classroom aides
• Observe and document children's progress, behaviors, and milestones
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding child development and daily activities
• Maintain compliance with Illinois childcare licensing regulations and health and safety standards
• Organize and lead circle time, structured play, arts and crafts, and other early learning activities

Requirements:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a licensed preschool or daycare setting
• Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Must meet Illinois DCFS background check and licensing requirements
• Strong communication, patience, and classroom management skills
• Genuine passion for working with young children and supporting families
