Lead Production Scheduler

Our client is seeking a Lead Production Scheduler for its Stuarts Draft, VA manufacturing site, approximately 40 minutes from Charlottesville. This senior individual contributor will own complex production scheduling, serve as the site’s SAP planning expert, and mentor colleagues in scheduling processes and system use.

Key Responsibilities

• Convert SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) aggregate plans into executable production schedules that account for materials, equipment capacity, and operating constraints.

• Collaborate with manufacturing, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve shortages and scheduling conflicts while balancing delivery, inventory, and efficiency.

• Optimize production sequencing and finite capacity scheduling through SAP PP/DS.

• Troubleshoot SAP planning issues with IT and the Center of Excellence, test enhancements, and validate system behavior.

• Maintain planning master data, including production wheels, routings, shift calendars, capacity models, and Planned Independent Requirements.

• Align Stock Transfer Orders with network plans and contribute capacity assessments and execution insights to S&OP discussions.

• Train schedulers and production coordinators, document effective practices, and improve planning accuracy.

Required Qualifications

• Extensive manufacturing experience in production planning and master production scheduling.

• Strong hands-on expertise in SAP S/4HANA Production Planning (PP) and Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS).

• Experience as an SAP Super User or planning systems subject matter expert.

• Knowledge of SAP IBP integration and translating aggregate plans into detailed schedules.

• Proficiency in finite capacity scheduling, constraint-based planning, production sequencing, planning master data, and exception management.

• Ability to troubleshoot system issues, coordinate across plant functions, and mentor colleagues.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, such as supply chain management, engineering, or business.
