Lead RN The Lead Nurse is responsible for overseeing daily Health Unit operations, supervising staff, and ensuring delivery of comprehensive occupational health services in alignment with federal and clinical standards. Provide emergency and non-emergency medical services, support medical surveillance programs, participate in preventive health and wellness initiatives, maintain accurate documentation and reporting, and support surge or emergency response operations as required. Place of performance: Bureau of Engraving and Printing 9000 Blue Mound Rd Fort Worth, TX, 76131 Schedule Hours: F/T Lead Nurse, (day shift) *Position supports a 24/5 operational environment and may require coverage across multiple shifts Requirements: Must possess or be willing to obtain Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC), retraining every 5 years. Must take CPR/AED training every 2 years and respond to emergencies as first responders. Have successfully earned a graduate or Baccalaureate degree from an accredited nursing program. Be licensed to practice in Fort Worth, Texas. Work with web-based computer systems, medical software, Occupational Health and Safety software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite software. Duties and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: Support pre-employment, psychological, and fitness-for-duty evaluation services as required, including coordination, review, and clinical input. Oversee all aspects, operations and all services rendered at the BEPHU; This certification allows the lead nurse to review audiograms, determine work-relatedness of hearing loss, follow up work-related hearing loss, and manage audiometric databases. Provide all other services normally offered under an Occupational Health Medical Office Services to include audiometry, spirometry screenings, immunizations, and workers’ compensation follow-up. Must take the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health Spirometry training program (16 hours every 5 years). This training allows the lead nurse to review and interpret spirometry tests (Pulmonary Function Test). Certified Occupational Health Nurse Training (Required for Lead Nurse). Recertification is required every 5 years. CEUs are earned instead of hours. This course is offered to registered nurses with a bachelor’s degree or higher. The focus of the COHNS certification examination is on the roles of management, education consultation, and case management, in addition to direct care. The lead nurse shall be experienced in management, supervising, and guiding the treatment nurses. The lead nurse shall be able to maintain data and prepare reports daily, weekly, monthly, and annually. Assist the medical director with monitoring any Local, State, or Federal Pandemic mailbox and inform the medical director of all urgent matters. Perform other duties as assigned. The Lead Nurse shall always wear professional medical attire while within the facility. Act as the nurse case manager for worker’s compensation cases. Refer patients to outside medical care when treatment exceeds on-site capabilities. #CB
