Position Overview


The School‑Age Teacher supports the daily operations of our school‑age program, providing a safe, engaging, and structured environment for children before and after school. This role includes classroom responsibilities, supervision during activities, and transportation of children using our small center bus.


Experience working with school‑age children is preferred. Education in early childhood or related fields is also preferred, but we are willing to help the right candidate earn their School‑Age Endorsement if needed.


Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage school‑age children in daily activities, homework time, games, and enrichment experiences.
  
  
• Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  
  
• Drive the small school bus for daily school routes, pick‑ups, and drop‑offs.
  
  
• Transport children for occasional field trips or special events.
  
  
• Follow all safety, licensing, and center policies at all times.
  
  
• Communicate professionally with families, coworkers, and leadership.
  
  
• Assist with full‑day programming during school breaks, holidays, and summer.
  
  
• Support classroom organization, cleaning, and activity preparation.
  
  
• Model positive behavior, problem‑solving, and conflict‑resolution skills.
  
  

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate our small school bus.
  
  
• Ability to work the typical school‑year shift of 2:00 PM–6:00 PM, Monday–Friday.
  
  
• Availability for full‑day shifts during school closures, breaks, and summer.
  
  
• Experience with school‑age children preferred.
  
  
• Education in early childhood or related field preferred; School‑Age Endorsement training available for candidates who need it.
  
  
• Ability to meet all state licensing requirements, including background checks and trainings.
