Role: Lead Software Engineer (AWS Cloud Engineer + Java Applications) Location: Washington, DC (Remote)

Job Summary:
Seeking a hands-on Senior/Lead Software Engineer to support the modernization and migration of existing on-prem applications to AWS. The role will focus on cloud readiness, application development, integration, deployment, and technical leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead design, development, testing, integration, and deployment.
Migrate and modernize on-prem applications for AWS.
Develop technical solutions and participate in architecture decisions.
Conduct code reviews and mentor developers.
Identify technical risks and improve application performance.
Collaborate with Architects, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Project Managers.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
8+ years of software engineering experience.
3+ years hands-on experience with: AWS, EKS, Kubernetes, Istio, Helm Charts, and OAuth 2.0.
Strong Java application development experience.
Cloud migration / modernization experience.
Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and SDLC.
Experience with application integration, deployment, testing, and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of DevSecOps and software architecture.
Experience with databases such as Oracle, SQL, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL.
Strong technical leadership, stakeholder communication, and mentoring skills.
