    Description

    Job Title:  Early Learning Center Lead Teacher                                                      
    Wage/Hours Status: Non-Exempt
    Hourly Wage: Starting at $15.00 per hour and up depending on education and experience
    Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-time hours available                                                   
    Dept./School: Middletown Christian School Early Learning Center                             
    Report to: ELC Director
    Start Date: ASAP
     
    Lead Teacher:  Middletown Christian Early Learning Center is in search of a lead teacher to assist in our center.   Must enjoy working with young children.
     
    Hours:  Various shifts are available depending on need between the hours of 6:30 am and 6:00 pm.
     
    Spiritual Maturity:
    • Publicly profess a faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
    • Actively engage in the life and ministry of the church as a member.
    • Believe and support the school’s statement of faith (Statement of Grace Baptist Church).
    • Agree to abide by the Lifestyle Statement.
     
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
    • Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
    • Maintain frequent communication with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
    • Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
    • Ensure a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
    • Maintain accurate records, forms, and files.
    • Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement which includes 10 clock hours in specialized training.
    • Must be willing to work with any age in the ELC (6 weeks to 5 years) when needed.
     
    Additional Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
    • Preferred - 2 years of childcare experience.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
    • Have ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
    • A strong understanding of child development.
    • Must be trained within 90 days of hire in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid.  All training is provided.
    • Must clear full background check and pass health screening.
     
    Educational Requirements:
    • High School diploma 
    • CDA or associate degree OR Bachelor’s degree in any area of study. We will cover the cost for CDA certification.
     
    Physical Requirements:
    • Be able to lift 35 - 50 lbs.
     
    Employment Type Benefits:
    • Part-time (20-34 hours/week) are eligible for up to 8 days PTO/year and discounts on tuition at ELC
