GENERAL SUMMARY

A Lead Teacher will assist small diverse groups of 6 or less students with virtual learning in our safe, structured learning environment.  Coaches monitor and encourage students as they complete school assignments.  Experience working with children and familiarity with typical school assignments is needed.  Comfort with technology is expected along with the ability to assist students as they log in and access assignments.  Coaches will assist with implementing a daily routine, leading relaxation breaks, and motivating students for high performance.  Some clerical and administrative duties involved.  Represent Sylvan core values to students and families.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Greets students and assist in developing a plan for the day.
  • Ensure successful log on for each student.  
  • Monitor for productivity. 
  • Answer questions to clarify assignments. 
  • Contact Classroom teachers for clarification as needed. 
  • Ensure regular breaks. 
  • Help Student utilizes resources

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

  • Knowledge of computer applications.  Experience using online learning tools. 
  • Reliable and available 5 days per week for 3 – 5 hours.
  • Experience using full suite of Microsoft Office applications and other standard business applications.
  • Knowledge of general office equipment such as copiers, printers, and office phones 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Strong customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in writing; Ability to proofread and edit copy
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible
