About the Role: 
Sunflower Child Care Academy LLC in Philadelphia, PA is looking for a passionate and dedicated Lead Teacher to join our growing team! This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on young learners in a nurturing, supportive environment where your creativity and care truly shine. 

 
Responsibilities: 

• Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and curricula that support early childhood development
• Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment for all children
• Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom aides
• Monitor and document children's developmental progress and communicate updates to families
• Build positive, trusting relationships with children, parents, and guardians
• Ensure classroom compliance with state licensing regulations and childcare standards
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities

Requirements:
 

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred
• Prior experience in a licensed childcare or early education setting
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) and early childhood frameworks
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Current Child Abuse History Clearance, Criminal Background Check, and FBI Clearance (or ability to obtain)
• Current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification preferred
• Warm, patient, and nurturing demeanor with a genuine passion for working with young children
