Who we are and what we do:
Help create learning experiences that support the people who serve Tennessee. The Tennessee Department of Finance & Administration is seeking a creative, dependable college student to join its Learning & Development team. This paid, remote internship offers hands-on experience supporting employee training, developing learning materials, assisting with virtual and in-person sessions, and exploring instructional design, adult learning, technology, and AI. Previous professional training experience is not required. Relevant coursework, presentations, class projects, tutoring, mentoring, leadership, volunteer work, or other experiences that demonstrate communication and collaboration skills are welcome.

Key Responsibilities:
Support the planning and delivery of virtual and in-person training.
Create presentations, job aids, facilitator guides, quick-reference materials, and other learning resources.
Assist with online course development and updates.
Support trainers before, during, and after training sessions.
Help facilitate activities, demonstrations, workshops, and learning exercises.
Research learning trends, emerging technologies, AI tools, and adult-learning practices.
Turn complex information into clear, easy-to-understand content.
Support training communications, registration, attendance tracking, evaluations, and records.
Review feedback and data to help improve training programs.
Maintain training calendars, course materials, and L&D resources.
Participate in team meetings, projects, and special initiatives.
Follow professional standards related to accessibility, confidentiality, accuracy, branding, and State communications.
Minimum Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a Tennessee college or university in education, instructional design, human resources, communications, business, psychology, technology, or a related field.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Basic experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
Ability to learn new technology and complete assignments accurately and on time.
Ability to work collaboratively in a professional environment.
Experience or knowledge with Canva, Learning Management Systems, Articulate 360/Rise, video editing, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, other AI tools, or virtual training platforms is helpful but not required.
Internship Details:
Location: Hybrid
Schedule: Part-time, approximately 5-15 hours per week
Compensation: $20 per hour
Duration: Six months, with possible extension.
Anticipated Start Date: Early October
Schedule Flexibility: Hours may be arranged around your class schedule.
Equipment: Equipment will be provided.
