    Leasing Consultant (Leasing Agent)

    Providence at McDowell  |  Phoenix, Arizona

    Full-Time, Hourly (Non-Exempt) + Commission  |  On-Site

    About the Role

    We're looking for a Leasing Consultant who genuinely likes people and likes to win. You'll be the first face a prospect sees and the reason many of them sign — giving tours, following up on leads, closing applications, and keeping current residents happy enough to renew.

    This is a sales role wrapped in hospitality. If you can hold a conversation, keep your follow-up organized, and get satisfaction out of hitting a number, you'll do well here.

    What You'll Do

    Leasing & Sales

    •      Greet walk-ins, answer calls and internet leads, and schedule appointmentsTour models, available units, and amenities; match prospects to the right floor plan
    •      Follow up on every lead until it closes or dies — phone, text, and emailProcess applications: income and credit screening, verification, and approvals
    •      Prepare and execute lease documents, addenda, and renewal agreementsMaintain accurate guest cards, traffic logs, and conversion data in the property management system
    •      Hit individual weekly leasing, closing-ratio, and follow-up goals

      Marketing & Outreach

      Conduct competitor market surveys and report on pricing, specials, and concessions
    •      Contribute photos, video, and content for social media and listing sitesSupport outreach to local employers, referral partners, and neighborhood businesses
    •      Help plan and staff resident events and leasing promotionsKeep models, the tour path, and the leasing office show-ready every day

      Resident Relations & Retention

    •      Welcome new residents and complete move-in orientations and paperworkRun renewal outreach and lease-expiration follow-up
    •      Take service requests, route them to maintenance, and follow up to confirm resolutionAssist with resident communications, packages, and general office coverage

      Operations Support

    •      Walk vacant units for market-ready condition before showingsNote curb appeal, safety, and maintenance issues while walking the property
    •      Assist with renewals paperwork, notices, and file maintenance in compliance with Fair Housing lawSupport the office team with general administrative tasks as needed

      What You Bring

      Required

    •      High school diploma or equivalent1+ year in sales, leasing, hospitality, retail, restaurants, or another customer-facing role
    •      Comfortable asking for the sale and following up persistently without being pushyStrong written and verbal communication; professional phone and email presence
    •      Basic computer skills (email, calendars, Microsoft Office or Google Workspace)Availability to work Saturdays and occasional evenings during peak leasing season
    •      Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

      Preferred

      Prior multifamily leasing experience
    •      Working knowledge of Yardi, Entrata, RealPage, or comparable property management softwareFamiliarity with Fair Housing requirements and the Arizona Residential Landlord and Tenant Act
    •      Bilingual (English/Spanish)

      No Arizona real estate license is required for on-site leasing employees.

      What Success Looks Like

      Closing ratio — you convert tours to applications at or above the property goal
    • Follow-up discipline — no lead sits in the system untouchedOccupancy — you treat the vacancy report as your scoreboard
    • Renewals — residents know you by name and want to stay

      Physical Requirements

      Must be able to walk the property and tour units multiple times daily, including stairs; operate a golf cart; occasionally lift up to 25 lbs; sit or stand for extended periods; and work outdoors in Phoenix summer heat during tours and outreach events.
