THE POSITION
The candidate should have experience working in a special education classroom or resource room setting, with behavior modification experience at the secondary level. The candidate should desire to work cooperatively with academic teachers within a team concept.
QUALIFICATIONS
Teacher of the Handicapped or Teacher of Students with Disabilities.
Experience with executive functioning preferred. Familiarity with online learning platforms.
Demonstrated knowledge of effective teaching methods and developmentally appropriate classroom activities and modifications.
Experience with thorough data collection and behavioral management.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Required criminal history background check and medical screening, proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident/immigrant status.

To provide instructional leadership in the classroom in accordance with the course of study approved by the Board of Education approved curriculum.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Implements instruction to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.2.
Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.

Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives.4.Employs instructional methods and available materials that are appropriate for meeting stated objectives.

Identifies students who require additional support services.7.
