    Salary:

    Per the HEA/HBOE Agreement

    Nature & Scope of Job: Provides specialized instruction and support to students with learning and/or language disabilities in grades 5-8. Should be able to develop and implement individualised educational programs (IEPs) , deliver standards-based instruction in core academic subjects, foster student independence, and collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure student success in the least restrictive environment.

    Qualifications:

    Appropriate State of NJ Special Education Teacher Certification and Elementary K-6 Endorsement

    Familiarity with the use of instructional technology as well as differentiated instruction

    Knowledge of effective/creative instructional strategies

    Excellent written and oral communication skills, flexibility, and ability to collaborate with colleagues

    Description:

    Responsible for implementing instructional strategies and best practices to address various learning levels

    Foster a nurturing and trusting academic environment

    Implement the NJSLS in the delivery of daily academic instruction

    A strong commitment to a high level of student learning

    Develop learning activities and use differentiated instruction to address the various types of learning

    Exhibit structured classroom management

    Use a variety of instructional methodologies and curriculum resources

    Use varied assessments to drive instruction

    Collaborate with colleagues in Professional Learning Communities

    Document and track student performance using various assessments

    Utilize technology effectively in daily lessons, including gathering and managing student data as required by the district and school administrator
