Job Summary

The Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion within the College of Education at the University of Kentucky is seeking candidates for a non-tenure-eligible Lecturer position, effective August 16, 2027. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Application reviews will begin October 1, 2026, and continue until the position is filled.

The Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion (KHP), housed in the College of Education, is comprised of 30 full-time faculty members, and offers undergraduate, masters, and doctoral programs in the academic areas of exercise science, physical education, health promotion, and sport leadership. KHP serves as the academic focus for more than 1,000 undergraduate and graduate students.

Job Responsibilities

Pursue excellence in teaching and service. Successful candidates will be expected to:

• Teach a four-four course load (i.e., 12 credits per semester) each academic year, consisting of primarily undergraduate courses serving most of our KHP majors and minors;
• Provide support across departmental undergraduate programs;
• Provide service to the department, college, and University of Kentucky.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

The successful candidate will possess an earned doctorate (Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent) in Exercise Science, or a related field, but the start date in August 2027.
