JOB SUMMARY:

NG Corporate, LLC provides legal services, environmental and sustainability leadership, and trade compliance support to National Gypsum Company and its affiliated companies. The work is varied and meaningful, from contracts, real estate, litigation, records management, environmental matters, and international trade compliance to the day-to-day coordination that keeps important projects moving.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys learning new subjects, asking good questions, improving processes, and becoming a trusted resource for a collaborative team. Prior legal experience is helpful but not required; we are looking for someone with strong follow-through, sound judgment, a positive attitude, comfort with technology, and the maturity to handle confidential information. The position is located on-site at the Charlotte, NC headquarters and reports directly to the General Counsel.

Key Responsibilities (not all inclusive)

Legal Administrative Duties
• Facilitate workflows and communication to ensure that client requests are timely met.
• Administer real estate leases and related holdings, including serving as primary contact for landlords, railroads, and other third parties; maintain database for lease payments and renewal dates.
• Serve as Records Coordinator for the Legal Department, Department of Environmental Affairs and Sustainability, and Trade Compliance and maintain files in accordance with applicable record retention policies.
• Maintain and organize electronic and paper files.
• Provide data entry support with respect to the contracts and real estate databases.
• Support department efforts to respond to document subpoenas, including reviewing documents and redacting records prior to production
• Coordinate with Human Resources, Payroll and Plant personnel to ensure timely handling of employee wage garnishments and filing of corresponding answers to court orders.
• Support department efforts to protect patents, trademarks and other intellectual property.
• Provide administrative support to department attorneys, including travel management, expense reports, incoming and outbound correspondence, word processing, spreadsheet and database administration, and other administrative tasks, as needed.

Accounting Duties
• Review and process invoices from law firms and other service providers; coordinate payments for areas of department responsibilities; track all payments against department budget.
• Coordinate check and wire payments to third parties.

Other Duties

• Schedule department meetings.
• Manage attendance calendar for all Legal Department personnel and individual calendars for department attorneys, as requested.
• Administer scheduling and calendar management of Legal Conference Room.
• Manage contact lists.
• Maintain current certification as a Notary Public and provide notary services as needed.
• Draft routine correspondence and Federal Express labels.
• Maintain and order forms and supplies for department.
• Research and complete special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Curious, positive, flexible and service-minded, with a genuine desire to learn and contribute.
• Prior administrative, executive support, law firm, or corporate legal department experience is helpful, but not required; we are willing to train the right person who demonstrates good judgment, initiative and follow-through.
• Detail-oriented self-starter with excellent organizational skills, time management skills, and the ability to learn how to appropriately prioritize competing tasks.
• Exercise discretion, judgment and sensitivity in handling confidential company information and issues.
• Comfortable and proficient with technology, including Microsoft Office programs, and interested in learning new processes, programs and software that improve how work gets done.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Enjoy working both independently and as part of a team, with the ability to stay composed, resourceful and organized when managing multiple demands.

Hybrid work schedule ineligible.

Competitive Salary with a general salary range of $59,232.00 to $74,040.00 or higher depending on education and experience.
