The firm has a growing and high-quality clientele consisting of individuals, families, and businesses. The firm routinely completes small tasks, such as drawing up grant deeds and simple contracts, as well as major undertakings, such as multi-million-dollar transactions and high-stakes litigation. The firm's mission is to provide top-level legal services at an affordable cost, on meaningful and diverse projects, with a direct and responsive relationship with each client.Summary of the OpportunityThis is a full-time position with benefits. The ideal candidate will have at least a handful of years of experience providing litigation and administrative support. This position is especially suited for someone of significant experience who is looking to scale back from a large or mid-sized law firm but is in the habit of the precision and multitasking required at such firms.Core Responsibilities Include:Answering, screening, and returning potential client/lead calls, conducting intake, and running conflicts checksUsing Clio law firm practice management software to maintain the intake process and existing mattersManagement of attorney calendar, including scheduling consultations, inputting litigation and non-litigation matter deadlinesAssistance with monitoring all attorney tasks in progress, work pipeline, and prioritization of tasks depending on deadlines and client wait timePreparing pleading captions and shells; formatting correspondenceImplementing and maintaining a limited paper filing systemCompleting service of litigation related documents and correspondence by mail and emailPreparation of various Judicial Council forms for use and filingWorking with vendors to complete electronic filing, schedule depositions and court reporters, etc.Occasional transcription of dictated work product (correspondence, discovery, pleadings)Welcoming clients during in-person meetings and consultationsLight research (pulling corporate, real property, and court records)Proofreading attorney work productCandidate Should Have:Strong organizational and calendaring skillsGeneral familiarity with e-filing, case management, and trial preparationFluency in Microsoft Word and Adobe AcrobatStrong writing, editing, and proofreading skillsConsistency in regard to attendance and punctualityPatience and kindness when dealing with clientsKnowledge of Clio is a plus, but the right candidate will be trained on this platform in the absence of previous experience with it.This position is compensated at $35 per hour , with the opportunity for merit-based and occasional bonuses.Business & Real Estate Law Firm PC is located on the second floor of an office building with no elevator.#J-18808-Ljbffr
