Legal Practice Assistant - Transactional & Business Law

Location: Southern California (DTLA, Irvine, Riverside or San Diego)

Schedule: Hybrid

Compensation: $85,000-$110,000 annually (non-exempt)

LHH is partnering with a respected law firm to identify an experienced Legal Practice Assistant to support attorneys in its transactional, business, and corporate law practices. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, and providing high-level support to attorneys and clients.

Overview

The Legal Practice Assistant will provide administrative and legal support to attorneys handling corporate and transactional matters. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with attorneys and support teams.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, revise, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and client materials

  • Coordinate attorney calendars, meetings, and client communications

  • Open new matters and assist with conflict check processes

  • Maintain client and matter files

  • Support document execution, notarization, and eRecording processes

  • Track assignments and manage competing deadlines

  • Collaborate with records, conflicts, and administrative departments

  • Provide day-to-day administrative and legal support to multiple attorneys

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of legal support experience in a law firm environment

  • Corporate, business, or transactional law experience preferred

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Experience with iManage strongly preferred

  • Familiarity with BigHand and ProLaw is a plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Litigation experience is a plus

  • Notary experience and eRecording knowledge are beneficial

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $85,000-$110,000, depending on experience and qualifications

California Pay Transparency Notice: The expected salary range for this position is $85,000-$110,000 annually. Compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, skills, and other job-related factors.
