Our client located in Houston, TX is in need of a Legal Billing Specialist for a 2 month contract period. This is an in office opportunity.

A mid-size law firm undergoing an internal accounting and billing transition

Legal Billing Specialist Role:
This role provides hands-on support within the firm’s legal billing and accounting function during a transitional period.
The specialist will assist with day-to-day billing operations, timekeeping support, invoicing, and account maintenance while the internal team restructures.
The position requires prior law firm billing experience and the ability to quickly integrate into established legal billing systems and workflows.
Responsibilities
•Support legal billing cycles and invoice preparation
•Process billing corrections and adjustments
•Assist with client billing inquiries and account maintenance
•Work within legal timekeeping and billing systems (LMS or similar)
•Support AR/AP-related administrative workflows
•Ensure accuracy and timeliness of billing submissions
•Collaborate with internal finance and legal operations teams during transition period

Legal Billing Specialist Background Profile:
•Prior experience in a law firm billing or legal accounting environment
•Strong understanding of legal billing cycles and invoicing processes
•Experience with legal billing or timekeeping systems (LMS or equivalent)
•Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
•Strong attention to detail and accuracy
•Ability to work in a fast-paced, transition-heavy environment
•Comfortable working independently with minimal onboarding time
•Mid-size to large law firm experience
•Exposure to AR/AP functions in a legal services setting
