Fisher Phillips, a premier international labor and employment law firm, is seeking a skilled and experienced Legal Secretary to join our team. In this essential role, you will help ensure the smooth operation of our services, directly supporting our attorneys in delivering exceptional client service and upholding our commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Format briefs, pleadings, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • File legal documents with state and federal courts; e-filing experience is preferred.
  • Proofread all documents carefully and consistently to ensure accuracy and completeness before distribution or filing.
  • Update and maintain client files.
  • Manage attorney calendars using Outlook and Milana, including scheduling appointments and calendaring deadlines.
  • Organize and coordinate travel arrangements for assigned attorneys.
  • Accurately enter, review, and revise timekeeper entries, including the consistent use of litigation task codes, when applicable.
  • Prepare attorney reimbursement and mileage submissions.
  • Review vendor invoices for accuracy, prepare check requests, and submit invoices promptly to clients or the Accounting Department for payment.
  • Participate in the timely review and submission of prebills and client invoices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience as a legal secretary required, preferably supporting a litigation practice.
  • Experience with LexisNexis, PACER, ECF, Aderant Milana preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, legal documents, and litigation procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to create, format, and update tables of contents and tables of authorities.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with document management systems, time-entry software, e-filing platforms, and legal database applications.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, professional environment.
