TradeSTAR is recruiting an experienced Level II Access Control Technician for a long-term opportunity with an established commercial security systems integrator serving the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

We're looking for someone who can do more than follow instructions. We need a technician who understands the installation process, can work independently, troubleshoot problems, and step up to help guide a crew when needed.

The Opportunity

This position involves hands-on installation of electronic security and access control systems across commercial projects throughout DFW.

You'll be working with everything from door hardware and security devices to low-voltage cabling and system troubleshooting.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Installing and terminating commercial access control and security cabling.

• Installing mag-locks, electric strikes, panic hardware, and power transfer hinges.

• Working with door position switches (DPS), motion detectors, cameras, and glass-break devices.

• Pulling, routing, labeling, and terminating low-voltage cabling.

• Reading blueprints, floor plans, and security system drawings.

• Planning cable pathways and identifying proper device locations.

• Testing installations, identifying wiring issues, and troubleshooting devices.

• Completing installations independently with minimal supervision.

• Participating in jobsite walk-throughs and coordinating with other trades.

• Providing direction and assistance to less-experienced technicians.

• Occasionally overseeing small crews of approximately 3 5 technicians.

• Maintaining a safe, organized, and productive jobsite.

Do You Have What It Takes?

We're looking for technicians who know the difference between simply installing a device and making sure the entire installation works the way it should.

Here's what we're looking for:

• At least 2 years of commercial access control or electronic security installation experience.

• Hands-on experience installing access control devices and electronic door hardware.

• Working knowledge of mag-locks, electric strikes, panic hardware, DPS, power transfer hinges, and related security devices.

• Ability to read prints, plan cable routes, and understand installation layouts.

• Experience testing and troubleshooting low-voltage security systems.

• Confidence working independently and completing assigned tasks.

• Experience working in active commercial construction environments.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with customers, contractors, and other technicians.

• Willingness to help guide a small crew when needed.

• A commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and getting the job done right.

• Texas Security License preferred.
