Level II Structured Cabling Technician Celina, TX
Your Work Speaks for Itself. Let s Put It to Work.
Anyone can pull cable. Not everyone can deliver an installation worth showing off.
You know the difference between getting the job done and getting it done right. Clean cable runs, properly dressed racks, organized telecom rooms, and terminations that pass testing the first time. That's the kind of workmanship that sets a skilled technician apart.
TradeSTAR is looking for experienced Level II Structured Cabling Technicians for commercial projects in Celina, Texas.
If you've spent time in the field, know your way around an MDF/IDF, and can handle your responsibilities without someone looking over your shoulder, we want to hear from you.
We're not looking for someone who just knows the terminology. We're looking for someone who knows how to put it into practice.
You've built the skills. Now find a project that puts them to good use.
Who You'll Be Working With
Our client is an established, Texas-headquartered electrical and low-voltage contractor with more than 30 years of experience delivering commercial technology and infrastructure solutions nationwide.
Their work spans structured cabling, fiber optics, commercial audiovisual systems, security, access control, and other building technologies.
With a strong presence in North Texas, this company supports large-scale commercial installations where quality workmanship, safety, and teamwork are essential.
This is an opportunity to bring your experience to an established contractor and continue developing your career in the low-voltage industry.
What You'll Be Doing
This isn't your first cabling project, and it shouldn't feel like one.
As a Level II Structured Cabling Technician, you'll put your hands-on experience to work installing and supporting commercial network infrastructure.
Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:
Pulling, routing, dressing, and securing Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber-optic cabling throughout commercial facilities.
Terminating copper cabling on keystone jacks, patch panels, and other connectivity hardware.
Installing J-hooks, cable tray, racks, cable supports, and structured cabling pathways.
Building and organizing MDF/IDF rooms, telecommunications closets, and equipment racks.
Assisting with fiber-optic installations and terminations.
Reading and following blueprints, floor plans, cable schedules, and installation drawings.
Labeling, testing, and troubleshooting copper cabling and connectivity issues.
Maintaining clean cable management, proper bend radius, and professional installation standards.
Working with Lead Technicians and project supervisors to complete assigned work efficiently.
Following commercial jobsite safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organized work area.
Bottom line: We need technicians who take pride in the details, understand the importance of doing things correctly, and can contribute to a productive crew.
Do You Have What It Takes?
You don't have to know everything. But at Level II, you should know enough to hit the ground running.
Here's what we're looking for:
At least 2 years of hands-on commercial structured cabling experience.
Solid experience pulling, routing, supporting, and dressing Cat5e and Cat6 cabling.
Confidence terminating jacks, patch panels, and other copper connectivity components.
Familiarity with J-hooks, cable tray, equipment racks, and MDF/IDF installations.
Ability to understand basic blueprints, cable schedules, and installation requirements.
Experience with cable testing equipment is preferred.
Fiber-optic installation experience is a plus.
Ability to complete assigned tasks independently while working effectively with a team.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
Strong work ethic, dependable attendance, and attention to detail.
Bonus points if you're the technician who straightens out a messy rack because you just can't leave it looking that way.
