The LIB Staff Member position is a temporary seasonal position that is primarily mobile in nature. A LIB Staff Member is responsible for assisting the CDC and General manager in setting up and organizing tools & equipment in the kitchen, setting up food prep & cooking stations, and prepping, cooking, and plating of food, as well as set up the food stations, and serve the food at the stations. An LIB Staff Member is also responsible for cleaning and maintaining the cleanliness of all kitchen equipment, kitchen supplies & tools, kitchen area as a whole Work shifts will take place at the Buena Vista Aquatic in Bakersfield, CA. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS - CDC, General Manager, Onsite Supervisor, COO, CEO
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & DUTIES - To assist in set up, prep, and cooking stations by arranging pots, pans, utensils, mise en place and other items needed
- To cook, present, and serve food to guests at live action food stations keeping a positive demeanor throughout the event
- To assist in kitchen setup and organization E.g. Tables, Stoves, Ovens, Hot Boxes, Sanitation Needs, etc.
- To assist in the preparation of all food items, including but not limited to Appetizers, Stationed Items, Entrees, Desserts, etc.
- To assist the cook(s) in properly labeling, wrapping and storing unused food after each meal
- To wash and dry kitchen pots/utensils and ensure their proper storage; when washing area is available
- To clean the kitchen area (floors, cookers, countertops, etc.), food preparation areas and equipment
- To clean and properly wrap all service equipment items (platters, utensils, etc.)
- To set up, service, and break down the food stations
- To engage in safe working practices as mandated by the state and Contemporary Catering
- To engage in procedures to promote health, cleanliness and food hygiene as mandated by the state and Contemporary Catering
- To report any problems to the CDC or Upper management
- To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job as assigned by CDC or General Manager
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES - The post holder is part of a team whose aim is to promote the general well-being of the client, event, and guests and may be required to work with the client in the kitchen as appropriate
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations and/or Kitchen Manager; to carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job as assigned

- Have the ability to use proper knife skills, perform culinary tasks, and keep work area clean, organized and void of clutter.
- Must be able to bring food to the proper serving temperature, have knowledge to use all kitchen equipment, be able to measure portions of foods, and follow recipes as instructed.
