Library Clerk - Cliff Cave

The Cliff Cave Branch is seeking a part-time Library Clerk to provide support to the circulation desk personnel by performing various clerical tasks to assist in the delivery of public service.

We have transformed into a meaningful community resource with updated facilities and an array of programs and partnerships that serve over 860,000 patrons.

Salary: $16.69 an hour

Hours:

Wednesday, Thursday: 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Saturday: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

One Sunday per month

Essential Responsibilities:

• Sorts and shelves Library materials in proper sequence, in accordance with performance standards, so materials are available for customer and staff use.
• Prepares Library for opening and closing.
• Assists in the location and retrieval of specific titles in order to fill customer requests in accordance with performance standards.
• Assists with the general maintenance and appearance of the collection so materials are in good condition and order for customer use.

Job Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must possess a commitment to a high level of public service

Physical and Mental Requirements:

• Ability to bend to very low and very high shelves when reaching for books or other Library materials
• Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
• Ability to push a full cart of books or other Library materials
• Ability to stand for up to eight hours per shift
• Ability to operate various types of Library equipment
• Ability to use a pc, word processing and e-mail
