Function

Are you passionate about books and community service? The City of Hampton is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Library Clerk to work in the librarys Collection Services department, based out of the Main Library. This role includes the processing and mending of materials, assistance with collection maintenance projects, and using the librarys ILS to handle minor cataloging duties. If you are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and good at balancing different projects, we'd love to hear from you!

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Specialized courses/training equivalent to the completion of one (1) year of college in library science, literature, or a closely related field preferred.
• Direct customer service experience preferred.
• Must successfully pass a background check prior to any offer of employment or promotion.

Additional Requirements

• May require working beyond a standard 40-hour work week to include evenings and weekends.
• The incumbent may be considered "essential personnel" during City emergency situations or at the direction of the City Manager which may include long hours and unusual schedules.
