Library Media Assistant

Library Media Assistant - Lincoln Elementary (Grades K-5)

10 month position - (8am-4pm Mondays and Tuesdays) 16 Hours Per Week includes 30 minute unpaid duty free lunch

$17.20-18.63 per hour

Job Responsibilities:

• Will need to have working knowledge of basic LMC functions
• Knowledge of methods, practices, terminology and procedures used in the library
• Encourage and provide assistance to student learning, including but not limited to small group instructional support
• STRONG understanding of computers and technology including the online library database
• General secretarial duties (typing, filing, copies, etc.)
• Assists with circulation process (checking in and out materials and shelving materials)
• Can communicate effectively with both students and staff
• Successful performance of the job requires good customer service & people skills to resolve problems and provide information as requested
• Assisting students and staff with location and use of library materials
• Repairs materials as necessary
• Assists in preparing displays and library promotions
• Ability to read shelves and files to maintain organization of the library, catalog and its materials
• Supervises students in the LMC area
• Distributes overdue notices to students
• Assist with yearly inventory and weeding of the library
• Help with scheduling library and lab areas for classes
• Other duties as assigned
