Licensed Hvac General Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead and grow a high-performing HVAC organization in the Richmond/Ashland, VA market. This individual will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, driving financial performance, developing team members, and creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.

The ideal candidate is a proven leader who can unite teams, inspire performance, and implement operational best practices while delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Development

• Provide strong leadership and direction to service, installation, sales, and administrative teams.
• Foster a positive, accountable, and collaborative company culture.
• Develop and mentor managers, supervisors, and team members to achieve individual and organizational goals.
• Lead team meetings, performance reviews, and ongoing coaching initiatives.
• Drive employee engagement, retention, and professional development efforts.
• Build alignment across departments and create a unified, customer-focused team environment.

Operational Management

• Oversee all day-to-day HVAC operations, including service, maintenance, installation, and customer support.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational excellence.
• Improve efficiency, productivity, and profitability through process optimization.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including safety standards.
• Collaborate with department leaders to manage scheduling, staffing, inventory, and fleet operations.

Financial & Business Performance

• Manage company budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
• Analyze operational and financial data to drive strategic decision-making.
• Monitor revenue, gross margin, labor efficiency, and overall profitability.
• Develop and execute growth strategies to increase market share and customer retention.
• Ensure achievement of company revenue and profitability goals.

Customer Experience

• Champion a customer-first culture across all departments.
• Resolve escalated customer concerns professionally and effectively.
• Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and service quality.
• Implement systems and processes that enhance the customer journey.

Technology & Systems

• Utilize ServiceTitan to monitor business performance, reporting, scheduling, dispatching, and operational metrics.
• Leverage data and reporting tools to identify opportunities for growth and operational improvements.
• Drive adoption of technology and best practices throughout the organization.

Requirements

• Active Virginia Master HVAC (Master HVAC Tradesman) license (Required).
• 5–10 years of progressive management experience within the HVAC industry.
• Proven experience leading multi-department HVAC operations, including service and installation teams.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, P&Ls, and operational performance.
• Experience developing and implementing operational processes and performance metrics.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Must reside in or be willing to commute to the Ashland/Richmond, VA area.
• Strong experience using ServiceTitan or similar HVAC service management software is a plus.
