We are seeking an experienced Licensed HVAC Service Mechanic to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This position is responsible for accurately diagnosing equipment issues, completing quality repairs, performing preventative maintenance, and providing excellent customer service. Candidates must hold a current Connecticut D-2 or S-2 HVAC license. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on HVAC experience, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced service environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair HVAC systems and equipment.
Service air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, air handlers, rooftop units, mini-splits, and related HVAC equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance and system inspections.
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, airflow, and refrigerant-related issues.
Test electrical components, motors, capacitors, contactors, relays, controls, and thermostats.
Check refrigerant pressures, temperatures, airflow, and overall system performance.
Identify equipment failures and recommend appropriate repairs or replacement options.
Complete repairs according to manufacturer specifications, company standards, and applicable Connecticut codes.
Communicate findings, repair recommendations, and system conditions clearly to customers.
Complete service tickets, job notes, equipment information, and other required documentation accurately.
Maintain company tools, equipment, parts, and service vehicle.
Follow all company safety procedures and applicable OSHA requirements.
Participate in an on-call or after-hours rotation as required.
Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service.
Requirements
Current Connecticut D-2 or S-2 HVAC license required.
Must be a licensed HVAC professional in the State of Connecticut.
3+ years of HVAC service and repair experience preferred.
EPA Section 608 Certification required.
Strong HVAC troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Working knowledge of electrical systems, refrigeration cycles, airflow, and HVAC controls.
Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment specifications.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Experience with ServiceTitan, FieldEdge, or similar field service software preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and other confined or elevated areas.
Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
Ability to safely use ladders, hand tools, power tools, and HVAC diagnostic equipment.
Preferred Experience
Residential and light commercial HVAC service experience.
Heat pump and traditional split-system experience.
Experience diagnosing complex HVAC electrical and mechanical issues.
Experience providing customers with repair and replacement recommendations.
