Position Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse provides hands-on nursing care within the scope of Ohio LPN practice under the direction of a registered nurse or licensed healthcare provider. This position administers medications and treatments, monitors patient conditions, maintains accurate documentation, provides direct care, and supports overall patient needs and treatment plans.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care within the scope of LPN practice under the direction of an authorized healthcare provider.
• Administer medications, oxygen, injections, dressings, catheter care, gastrostomy tube care, suctioning, wound care, and other prescribed treatments.
• Perform dialysis treatments and operate and monitor related equipment, as assigned.
• Assist with examinations, treatments, laboratory procedures, and emergency care, including first aid and CPR.
• Monitor, document, and report patient conditions, medication reactions, treatment responses, behavior, and progress.
• Maintain accurate patient and treatment records and related documentation.
• Provide direct patient care, including vital signs, hygiene, bathing, activities of daily living, repositioning, and other treatment-plan activities.
• Provide guidance and training to lower-level direct care staff as assigned.
• Participate in team meetings, training programs, and other professional activities.
• Order and maintain medications, medical supplies, and nursing equipment.
• Perform related administrative and clerical duties.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in accordance with Ohio Revised Code Section 4723.01.
• Knowledge of practical nursing procedures, pharmacology, patient care, first aid, CPR, HIPAA standards, and healthcare practices.
• Ability to perform nursing procedures and safely operate applicable medical equipment.
• Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to emergency or changing patient conditions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established nursing procedures.
