Job Description
A New York City-based health services organization is seeking a new Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join its addiction treatment & residential care facility in the Bronx.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day or Evenings
- Schedule: Monday to Friday (with alternating weekends)
- Hours: 7am to 3pm or 2pm to 10pm
- Setting: Residential Treatment
Responsibilities:
- Provide supportive and restorative nursing care under the supervision of medical leadership and registered nursing staff
- Conduct health assessments for new clients and review medical histories submitted by intake
- Administer medications and maintain accurate medication administration records in the electronic health record system
- Perform nursing procedures and technical tasks such as vital signs, phlebotomy, and laboratory collections
- Coordinate referrals, follow-up care, and communication with physicians, pharmacies, and interdisciplinary team members
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED
- Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing program
- Active NYS Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Current BLS certification
- Current NYS-approved Infection Control certification
- Training in chemical use, abuse, and dependence specific to the services provided
- Mandated reporter training completed before the hire date
Desired Skills:
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Experience with Substance Use or Alcohol Dependence populations
- Experience with Electronic Health Records, including SigmaCare or NextGen
- Background in Family Health, Women's Health, or Holistic Care
- Experience in Residential or Behavioral Health care settings
