Location: Syracuse, New York 13202
Shift:Day Shift | Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Duration: 14 Weeks
Weekly Hours: 42.5 Hours

Job Summary

A leading healthcare facility in Syracuse, NY is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for an outpatient clinical setting. The ideal candidate will support physicians and nursing staff with direct patient care, clinical procedures, patient intake, referrals, insurance authorizations, and administrative coordination while maintaining high standards of patient care and clinic efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and room patients while preparing them for examinations and procedures
  • Record vital signs, patient history, and clinical information accurately
  • Assist physicians and nursing staff during examinations and treatments
  • Prepare clinical trays, supplies, and equipment for procedures and injections
  • Administer injections and assist with outpatient procedures as needed
  • Monitor and report patient responses to treatments and interventions
  • Maintain exam rooms, clinical equipment, and patient care areas
  • Complete patient intake, chart preparation, and EMR documentation
  • Support appointment scheduling, referrals, and front-office coordination
  • Obtain insurance authorizations for procedures, imaging, therapies, and specialty services
  • Coordinate referrals and communication with primary care providers and specialists
  • Contribute to smooth clinic workflow and daily nursing operations
  • Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and patient confidentiality

Requirements

  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required
  • Prior outpatient or acute care clinical experience preferred
  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems strongly preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Excellent patient care and customer service skills
