    The Phoenix Indian Medical Center is a 127-bed Indian Health Service hospital located in central Phoenix, Arizona. PIMC is one of the largest IHS facilities in the country, serving over 150,000 American Indian and Alaska Native patients from more than 45 tribes. Services include Emergency Medicine, ICU, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Behavioral Health, OB/GYN, Pediatrics, Pharmacy, Radiology, and more.

    About the Role

    As a Pediatric LPN at PIMC, you will provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients in an outpatient clinic setting. You will work alongside physicians, nurse practitioners, and a multidisciplinary team to deliver well-child exams, immunizations, patient education, vital sign monitoring, and care coordination for Native American children and adolescents. This is a meaningful role where your compassion and clinical skills directly improve the health of an underserved community.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients in the outpatient clinic
    • Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with well-child exams, sick visits, and follow-up appointments
    • Administer immunizations and medications per provider orders
    • Obtain and document vital signs, height, weight, and developmental screenings
    • Perform point-of-care testing (glucose, urinalysis, rapid strep, etc.)
    • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, nutrition, and preventive care
    • Coordinate referrals and follow-up care with specialty services
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record
    • Ensure exam rooms are stocked, cleaned, and prepared for patient visits
    • Support infection control protocols and clinic safety standards

    Qualifications

    • Active, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in any U.S. state
    • Graduate of an accredited practical/vocational nursing program
    • Minimum 1 year of experience in pediatric nursing or a pediatric outpatient setting preferred
    • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
    • Experience with immunization administration and pediatric vital sign assessment
    • Strong communication skills and ability to work with children and families
    • Proficiency with electronic health records

    Schedule

    Outpatient – Monday through Friday, daytime hours. No nights, no weekends, no on-call.
