A New York City-based residential treatment organization is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Bronx,. This role provides nursing support in a women and children's recovery setting, with responsibilities focused on patient care, medication administration, health assessments, and coordination with the interdisciplinary care team.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Monday to Friday (with every other weekend
- Hours: 1pm to 9pm or 2pm to 10pm
- Setting: In-person residential care facility
Responsibilities:
- Complete health assessments, review medical histories, and support the intake process for new clients
- Administer medications, maintain accurate medication records, and follow established medication protocols
- Perform clinical tasks such as vital signs, phlebotomy, and lab specimen collection
- Coordinate with physicians, specialists, and the interdisciplinary team to support treatment planning, referrals, and follow-up care
Qualifications:
- Active and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse license in New York State
- High School Diploma / GED
- Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing program
- Active NYS Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Current Basic Life Support certification
- Current NYS-approved Infection Control certification
- Knowledge of substance use and alcohol dependence populations
- Training in chemical use, abuse, and dependence specific to the services provided
Desired Skills:
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Experience in family health, women's health, or holistic care
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems, including SigmaCare or NextGen
- Experience supporting residential or behavioral health care settings
