LICENSED PSYCHOTHERAPIST (ADVANCED/NICHE SPECIALIST)
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Depth-focused clinical work for clinicians who bring advanced training or a clearly defined specialty and want to practice within a thoughtful, well-structured group environment.

You've Invested Deeply in Your Clinical Craft. We've Built a Practice That Values That Kind of Depth.
At Elevate Counseling + Wellness, we believe specialized clinical work thrives when it exists within a collaborative professional community rather than in isolation. Our group practice is designed to support therapists who bring advanced skills or clearly defined clinical niches while remaining connected to a broader team of colleagues.

We prioritize relationship-centered care, ethical clarity, and strong systems that allow clinicians to focus on meaningful clinical work. Our culture values professionalism, intellectual curiosity, and collaboration across specialties.

Elevate is a place for clinicians who want to practice at depth while remaining part of a respectful and supportive professional environment.

What It's Like to Work Here
Our practice is built around clarity, collaboration, and sustainable clinical work. At Elevate, you can expect:

  • A steady pace of clinical work rather than urgency-driven scheduling
  • Clear expectations around documentation, boundaries, and professional standards
  • Collaboration between specialists and generalist clinicians
  • Opportunities for consultation, case discussion, and shared learning
  • Administrative systems designed to support clinicians rather than slow them down

Specialists here are part of the team. Your expertise shapes referral flow and clinical conversations, but no one practices in isolation.

You'll Likely Thrive Here If You…

  • Bring advanced training or a clearly defined clinical niche
  • Value collaboration alongside professional expertise
  • Practice with strong ethical clarity and scope awareness
  • Enjoy contributing to a thoughtful and respectful team culture
  • Appreciate clear systems that support your clinical work

We welcome clinicians from diverse backgrounds, identities, and theoretical orientations and are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace.

Role Summary: Specialist Therapist
This role is designed for therapists with advanced training or a clearly defined specialty area, such as trauma-focused work, EMDR, couples therapy, or other specialized modalities.

Specialist therapists contribute clinical depth and service differentiation within the practice. While their caseloads reflect their expertise, they remain integrated within the broader clinical team and shared practice standards.

Specialization shapes how your clinical work is structured while maintaining consistency with the practice's overall expectations for care and professionalism.

What This Role Involves

  • Providing specialty or advanced-modality psychotherapy within your defined scope
  • Conducting thoughtful screening and readiness assessments for specialized work
  • Collaborating with generalist clinicians around appropriate referrals and continuity of care
  • Maintaining strong clinical standards and outcomes within your area of expertise
  • Communicating clearly about scope, pacing, and boundaries of specialized treatment

Clinical Workload Expectations
To support access to care and consistency for our clients, Elevate maintains clear, practice-wide workload standards.

Full-time therapists: Rolling average of 22 client sessions per week
Part-time therapists: Rolling average of 16 client sessions per week

These expectations apply across therapist roles. Specialization shapes how caseloads are structured rather than exempting clinicians from shared practice standards.

Schedule & Presence
This role follows Elevate's hybrid schedule model, including:

  • A schedule that balances specialty work with client access needs
  • At least two evening shifts per week (3:00 pm–8:00 pm)
  • At least two in-office shifts per week

Even for specialized services, consistent presence supports collaboration, referral flow, and continuity of care.

    Qualifications

    • Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
    • Active Illinois clinical license (LCPC, LCSW, LMFT, PsyD/PhD)
    • Advanced training, certification, or substantial experience in a specialty area
    • Strong ethical judgment and scope awareness
    • Experience working within team-based or group practice environments preferred

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Competitive compensation
    • Health, dental, and vision insurance
    • 401(k) with employer match
    • Paid time off and paid holidays
    • CEU support and professional development opportunities

    Our Hiring Approach
We hire intentionally. Our interview process focuses on role fit, clinical judgment, and alignment with our practice values.

We are transparent about expectations so clinicians can thoughtfully assess whether Elevate offers the right environment for their clinical work and specialization.

    How to Apply
If you are a clinician with advanced skills who values depth, collaboration, and ethical practice within a supportive group environment, we encourage you to apply.

We look forward to learning how your expertise could contribute to Elevate Counseling + Wellness.
