Animal Samaritans is a nonprofit animal welfare organization dedicated to improving the lives of animals and the people who love them. We are currently seeking a compassionate, skilled, and team-oriented Full-Time Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our growing veterinary team.

Position Summary

Our Registered Veterinary Technicians perform a wide range of clinical and client care duties in a fast-paced veterinary environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative setting and is committed to delivering high-quality medical care with compassion and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with exams and treatments
  • Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgical procedures
  • Perform dental prophylaxis and dental radiographs
  • Prepare patients for surgery and treatment
  • Collect and process laboratory samples
  • Provide hospitalized patient care and monitoring
  • Take and process radiographs (x-rays)
  • Administer medications and treatments
  • Perform laser treatments
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding patient care
  • Maintain accurate medical records
  • Utilize proper animal handling and restraint techniques
  • Support daily hospital operations and teamwork initiatives

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license or eligible to become certified
  • Minimum of 2 years of veterinary technician experience preferred
  • Emergency or specialty medicine experience is a plus
  • Strong communication and client service skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and computer skills
  • Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
  • Willingness to continue learning and pursuing professional development

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds or more
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends and varying shifts based on hospital needs
