    Position Summary

    The Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician completes patient assessments and evaluations, develops and implements individualized treatment goals, and provides therapeutic interventions to address a variety of mental health needs. This individual also connects patients with appropriate resources and referrals, both within the organization’s continuum of care and throughout the surrounding community.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or another related clinical discipline
    • At least two years of counseling, social work, or related clinical experience

    Preferred Qualifications

    • More than three years of counseling, social work, or related clinical experience
    • Previous experience working within a Federally Qualified Health Center is preferred
    • Experience in women's health, children's health, or all ages

    Licensure

    Candidates must hold one of the following licenses upon hire:

    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
    • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

    Skills and Knowledge

    • Ability to exercise sound judgment and respond appropriately during emergencies
    • Ability to establish program goals and objectives that support the organization’s strategic plan
    • Comprehensive understanding of behavioral health services and appropriate levels of care
    • Familiarity with the differential diagnosis of common mental health and substance use disorders
    • Knowledge of public health challenges, principles, and practices
    • Strong communication, collaboration, and patient-support skills

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Assess patients’ behavioral health needs, barriers to care, and appropriate therapeutic interventions to help them reach their optimal level of functioning
    • Apply knowledge of various therapeutic modalities, the DSM-5 classification system, and multicultural considerations
    • Use counseling and education techniques to help patients feel informed and empowered in their care
    • Complete medical record documentation accurately and promptly in accordance with program, regulatory, payer, and organizational standards
    • Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and community resources to ensure patient needs are met and transitions of care are coordinated
    • Perform additional duties as assigned
