What you'll do at DBH:
The Licensure and Certification Supervisor (Mental Health Administrator 5) serves in a senior leadership role responsible for the statewide administration, oversight, and continuous improvement of DBH licensure and certification programs. This position provides strategic leadership and direct supervision of licensure and certification survey staff while ensuring compliance with Ohio Administrative Code, Ohio Revised Code, federal regulations, and nationally recognized accreditation standards.
The incumbent plans, directs, coordinates, implements, and monitors statewide licensure and certification activities for private psychiatric hospitals, community behavioral health providers, opioid treatment programs, recovery housing residences, and residential facilities. The position works collaboratively with agency leadership, legal counsel, providers, stakeholders, and federal and national accrediting organizations to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality behavioral healthcare services throughout Ohio.

Maintain current knowledge of national accreditation standards and federal requirements affecting behavioral health providers.
Collaborate with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), national accreditation organizations, and other regulatory agencies regarding survey findings and compliance matters.
Represent DBH with organizations including:
The Ohio Council
Ohio Hospital Association
National accreditation organizations
Provider associations
Other stakeholder and constituency groups
Build collaborative relationships with providers, healthcare organizations, and public stakeholders.
Training, Technical Assistance, and Communication
This is an hourly position and is exempt from the bargaining units, with a pay range of 15 on the E1 Exempt Pay Range Schedule. Normal working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. This position is located within our Office of Licensure and Certification at the James Rhodes State Office Tower, 30 East Broad Street, 8th floor, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.
Additional Salary / Appointment Information:
This is an unclassified position, and as such, serves at the pleasure of the Director of DBH.
Completion of undergraduate core program in business administration or mental health technology (e.g., psychology, rehabilitation, social work); 12 mos. exp. in area to be assigned.
