ROLE DESCRIPTION
A'lan Edmonson - State Farm Agent is seeking a motivated, compassionate, and sales-driven
Life Insurance Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis.
In this role, you will focus on helping customers understand their life insurance needs and identify coverage options designed to help protect the people who depend on them most. You will work with both existing customers and prospective customers, conduct needs-based conversations, follow up on opportunities, and guide customers through the life insurance application process.
The ideal candidate is comfortable discussing financial protection, building relationships, asking thoughtful questions, and confidently asking for the business. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys consultative sales and wants to grow their income while making a meaningful impact on customers and their families.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct needs-based conversations with customers to identify life insurance needs and protection gaps.
- Educate customers on available life insurance products, coverage options, and how life insurance can fit into their overall protection plan.
- Develop life insurance opportunities from existing customers, leads, referrals, and agency campaigns.
- Proactively contact and follow up with prospective customers by phone, text, and email.
- Prepare and present life insurance quotes based on customer needs and goals.
- Guide customers through the life insurance application and underwriting process.
- Maintain consistent follow-up with applicants and prospective customers throughout the sales process.
- Build strong customer relationships that generate additional opportunities and referrals.
- Maintain accurate records of customer conversations, activities, and follow-up.
- Meet established activity and production goals.
- Follow applicable insurance regulations, licensing requirements, and agency procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Active Life and Health insurance license preferred; ability to obtain required licensing may be considered.
- Previous life insurance, financial services, or insurance sales experience preferred.
- Strong consultative sales and relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable prospecting, following up with leads, and asking for the sale.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to discuss sensitive financial and family protection topics with professionalism and empathy.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage a sales pipeline independently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to compliance.
- Goal-oriented mindset with a desire to grow professionally and financially.
POSITION DETAILS
