Lighting Shop + Prep Supervisor - Sound Image

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:The Lighting Shop + Prep Supervisor assumes primary responsibility for managing everyday operations of all areas of the lighting team: inbound, outbound, prep, fixture/console testing, and firmware/software updates.QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the essential functions of this job while exercising independent judgment and discretion.Strong communication skills with the ability to relate to various groups of internal and external customersThe ability to maintain confidentiality when necessaryHigh level attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage and lead various departments by establishing goals and providing directionAdvanced knowledge of signal flow principlesAbility to troubleshoot effectively and efficientlyMust be available by phone or email during off hoursMust be computer literate with a willingness to improve knowledge base moving forwardFamiliar with the use of usual office machinery, timecard systems, and a security systemEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:Familiarity with moving lights, LED & lamp based sources, consoles, networkingFamiliarity with various markets of the live events industry – corporate, festivals, dry rentalsExperience using hand tools and power toolsWorking knowledge of ERP systemsExperience supervising, mentoring, and coaching employeesRESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:   Employee SupervisionSupervise training of new hires in the Lighting WarehouseProvide employee coaching and resolve department and employee issues   Department ManagementInput into ERP software to accurately track, manage, and utilize company owned assetsEnsure that equipment leaves the shop prepped at or above company standards, within the constraints of the client's specifications including the responsibility to meet client specific deadlinesCoordinate the warehouse flow of inbound and outbound gear with other disciplines and other departments within the lighting teamDevelop and/or improve packaging of Clair lighting systemsCollaborate on a regular basis with Clair lighting operations personnelForecast lighting staffing and labor needs during peak seasonsEnsure all lighting equipment gets tested, firmware checked/updated, and cleaned before transferring to another office or moving to prep the next showContinue to remain up-to-date on latest lighting technologies and standards within the live entertainment industryManage sub rental inbound/outbound orders to ensure timely pickup and return of equipmentPerform such other duties and functions as required from time to time
