Leasing Consultant - Tax Credit (LIHTC)

Do you enjoy helping people find the perfect place to call home while delivering exceptional customer service? We're looking for a customer-focused Leasing Consultant with LIHTC/Tax Credit experience who is passionate about creating an outstanding experience for every prospect and resident.

As a Leasing Consultant, you'll be the face of our community. Your ability to build relationships, provide exceptional service, and guide prospective residents through the leasing process will play a key role in maintaining high occupancy and resident satisfaction. Experience with Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) communities is preferred, and knowledge of affordable housing compliance is essential.

What You'll Do

• Deliver exceptional customer service to every prospect, resident, and visitor.
• Conduct professional and engaging apartment tours that showcase the community and help prospective residents find their new home.
• Meet or exceed leasing goals by following up on leads, overcoming objections, and closing leases.
• Qualify applicants and assist with LIHTC eligibility, income documentation, and compliance requirements.
• Process applications, certifications, recertifications, leases, renewals, move-ins, and move-outs accurately and efficiently.
• Educate residents on affordable housing guidelines while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
• Respond promptly to resident questions and concerns, ensuring a positive customer experience.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure service requests are completed and residents are kept informed.
• Maintain organized resident files and ensure compliance with Fair Housing and LIHTC regulations.
• Assist with marketing efforts, resident events, outreach, and social media initiatives to increase traffic and occupancy.
• Help create a welcoming community where residents feel valued and at home.

What We're Looking For

• Previous apartment leasing experience required.
• LIHTC/Tax Credit experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of affordable housing compliance, income qualifications, and resident certifications.
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
• Strong sales ability with a proven track record of closing leases.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience with property management software such as Yardi, OneSite, Entrata, RealPage, or similar platforms.
• Working knowledge of Fair Housing regulations.
• Positive attitude, professionalism, and a team-oriented mindset.
