We are currently looking for an applicant that would like to work the line in addition to helping us do dishes a couple days a week.
 
The Line Cook is required to prepare the menu to the standards of service at Chook. They are responsible for the station’s workflow, cleanliness and timeliness of preparation so all guests receive their food on time. They will also oversee the cooking and preparation process from start to finish to determine how much time is need to properly complete each item. Line Cooks will be trained on multiple stations, Hot Apps, Salads and Rotisserie. Chook has made a commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion.
 
The Dishwasher is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of all pots, pans dishes and glassware for Chook.

Reports to: Kitchen Manager
Full-Time (30 to 40 hours/week) or Part-Time (15 to 29 hours/week)
Hourly : miniumum of $20/hour – which is a combination of base hourly pay ($18.81/hr) and tip pool percentage

 Availability: Must be able to work mornings, days, weekends, and evenings with a flexible schedule that may change often. Potential staff will need to communicate school, other work, and all other special schedule requests prior to the beginning of employment.

Performance Expectations of Line Cook:
-Acts as a representative for Chook by greeting all staff and guests in a friendly manner.
-Correctly prepares food with Chooks standards of service.
-Reports food waste to restaurant management.
-Maintains a clean workstation and restaurant while on shift.
-Performs pre-shift side work duties, running side work throughout shift, and closing or end of shift side work with attention and care.
-Knows how to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
-Adheres to food safety regulations at all times.
-Fills in any role that may be needed during a shift.
-Appropriately asks questions when necessary.
-Appropriately asks for help when necessary.
-Follows all safety procedures at Chook.
-Follows all health code and proper food handling standards.
-Arrives on time for all shifts in a clean uniform with good personal hygiene.
