Company Overview:Join our Team! The Big Chill 30A is a family friendly entertainment complex located on historic 30A, nestled between Alys Beach and Seaside. Our venue hosts 5 restaurants, 3 bars, retail shops, an arcade, an amphitheater for live music and a 25’ LED Jumbotron for sports and movies. We are open year-round, from 7am to 10pm.
We are now hiring for the fall season, with open positions including both Line Cooks and Line Cook TRAINERS (depending on experience). Our restaurant concepts include Duos All-American Grill, Local Smoke BBQ, Mile Marker 15 and Tackle Box, all with unique menu offerings. We have both Full Time and Part Time positions available and offer flexible scheduling for students/seasonal employees. *The Hiring Bonus will be paid out as follows: $100 after 30 days, $200 after 90 days and $200 after 180 days.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
- Prepare all food to company standards by following company menu training and proper cooking instructions
- Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock
- Ensure proper portioning, plating, and presentation according to recipes and spec sheets
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure quality and consistency
- Follow all food safety and hygiene standards, including proper food handling and storage
- Assist with prep work and cleaning duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous experience at a high-volume restaurant preferred
- ServeSafe or Food Handler certification a plus (we will provide training for your certification)
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to lift 30+ lbs
- Ability to work standing for 8+ hours
