Line Locator

A Line Locator uses electrical/technical equipment to accurately locate underground facilities including, but not limited to, existing telephone communication lines, electric power lines, cable television lines, oil and gas transmission lines, fiber optic lines, water lines, and sewer lines, at the precise given locations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Locates underground facilities by using a transmitter / line locator
• Use alignment sheets to help find unmarked lines
• Work with OneCall data to verify lines are marked accurately
• Other duties as assign by supervisors

Qualifications:

• Must be a problem solver
• Must have computer skills
• Ability to read alignment sheets and KMZ
• Must have a clean motor vehicle report
• Must be willing to travel
• Be able to work overtime and weekends
• Ability to work outdoors in any weather conditions on a regular basis including extreme cold and heat
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to stand, stoop, crouch, kneel and perform other related physical activities for long periods of time
• Ability to walk on uneven surfaces
• Must be able to pass DOT required drug test

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Previous locating experience is preferred
