Position Title:<\/span><\/b> Engineering Tech III (LINUX)
Location:<\/b> Los Angeles, CA 90012
Duration:<\/b> Up to 6 months
Work Schedule: <\/b>44/36 Mon–Fri schedule starting as early as 7:00 am – 4:30 pm with every other Friday off<\/span><\/p>

Rate - $35 -40/hr on W2

This position provides day -to - day<\/b> SCADA operations support <\/b>requiring diagnostic knowledge and experience to troubleshoot SCADA software/hardware and process control applications within specialized areas of SCADA, including client/server applications, system administration, security controls, Oracle and other database systems, and server hardware and software.<\/span><\/div>

Responsibilities for this position includes, but is not limited to:<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

  • May develop technical training materials for the area of responsibility.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Conducts analyses and investigations of technical issues, prepares reports, and makes recommendations.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Conducts technical studies, tests, inspections, and research for the area of responsibility.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Prepares and reviews estimates, plans, submittals, design criteria, and specifications.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Develops, prepares, and delivers presentations.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • May represent Metropolitan within the area of responsibility to obtain or convey information and resolve issues.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • May develop and administer contracts and agreements; oversee the work of vendors, consultants, and contractors.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • May serve on a project team.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Develops and maintains databases within the area of responsibility.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Develops and updates standards, procedures, guidelines, and manuals.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • May provide emergency response within the area of responsibility.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • May act as resident inspector within the area of responsibility.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Performs other related Engineering Technician job duties as required.<\/span>

    Requirements<\/h3>

    Education and Experience:<\/span><\/b>
    <\/p>

    • High school diploma or general education development test (GED), and two years of accredited college or university in engineering, and six years of relevant experience, two years of which must have been at the Engineering Technician II level.<\/b><\/span>
      <\/li>
    • This position requires competence and demonstrated ability to investigate, analyze, and resolve SCADA server & desktop<\/b> application and operating system problems, <\/b>including hands -on experience in server management and best practices. This position will also work closely with IT and project management teams, and SCADA network/security team members in order to maintain a secure and properly working SCADA network.<\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Strong knowledge/experience of Linux; <\/b>Ability to set up and maintain infrastructure automation and management tools, satellite servers, and familiarity with SolarWinds and Sophos or other similar applications; Develop and maintain images and configure an operating -system deployment strategy using Linux management tools; Perform the administration and management of Linux based SCADA Infrastructure; Maintain software updates on Linux based controllers; Familiarity working with virtual environments.<\/span>

    • Strong knowledge of Linux<\/b><\/span>
      <\/li>
