Position Summary:
Under the leadership of the Director, Laboratory, the LIS Analyst/Point of Care Coordinator is an active member of the Laboratory and IT team that works to determine the strategic vision, goals, philosophy and direction of the Lab department and CRHS. The LIS Analyst/ Point of Care Coordinator is responsible for the analysis, development, and support of lab related applications and may provide customized reports, queries, menus, interfaces, and other programs as needed for system end-users in the lab and other clinical areas. In addition, the LIS Analyst/ Point of Care Coordinator is responsible for completion of routine day-to-day processes for the LIS as well as other interfaced and/or associated systems, to include monitoring system parameters and assuming a role in the coordination of end-user training and generation of reports. The LIS Analyst/ Point of Care Coordinator is responsible for all areas of the organizations Acute Point of Care delivery. The LIS Analyst/ Point of Care Coordinator has IT skills as well as a lab background.
Basic Qualifications:
Requires a High School Diploma with an emphasis in science and the successful completion of a formal medical t technician training; or two years of pertinent clinical laboratory experience; an Associate’s Degree in medical laboratory technology; or the successful completion of two years (90 quarter hours) or the equivalent. Requires at least some training (either formal or OJT) in support duties for an LIS.
Requires two to four years of work-related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must clearly display an aptitude for acquiring a computer related skillset and at least some applicable experience in support of an LIS and/or related systems and interfaces.
Requires and maintains a minimum of a Medical Laboratory Technician certification from the ASCP, AMT, NCS, AAB or other approved agencies by the department.
