Job Details

Work remote.

We have offices in Denver, Phoenix and Salt Lake City.

This is a chance to take ownership of your own docket early and build a broad defense practice.

• Manage a diverse caseload of Colorado defense matters from intake through hearing, trial, or settlement in state and federal courts and administrative forums
• Represent insurance carriers, self-insured employers, private businesses, and third-party administrators
• Appear at hearings, depositions, mediations, and settlement conferences on behalf of carriers, employers, and their insureds
• Draft pleadings, position statements, discovery, motions, and briefs in court and administrative settings
• Advise clients on coverage, claim handling, and risk, with the goal of early resolution where it makes sense

Required:

• CO Bar Admission
• Recent defense litigation experience
• Also open to anyone from a district court background

You should know some of the following:

• Insurance defense, liability defense, wrongful death
• Insurance coverage, bad faith, declaratory relief, coverage opinions, first-party and third-party claims
• General Liability, Premises Liability, trucking
• Residential and commercial property loss
• Complex Commercial Litigation, contracts
• Labor & Employment: wage and hour, wrongful termination, misclassification, Title VII, ADA, FMLA
• Medical Malpractice
• Municipality and Government Entity
• Construction Litigation, toxic torts
• Administrative and Regulatory Law: agency hearings, licensing, disciplinary proceedings
• Appellate
• Subrogation and Recovery
• Class action defense, SIU investigation
• Workers' Compensation defense
