About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Litigation Legal Assistant/Legal Secretary to join its growing legal team. This role is ideal for a professional with litigation support experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys managing multiple priorities while supporting attorneys through all phases of the litigation process.
Key Responsibilities
Document Preparation & File Management
Draft, revise, format, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, motions, correspondence, and discovery materials
File court documents electronically and maintain compliance with court rules and deadlines
Maintain and organize electronic and physical case files
Manage document production and ensure accuracy of all filings
Case Management & Litigation Support
Coordinate attorney calendars, court appearances, hearings, depositions, and client meetings
Monitor case deadlines and maintain litigation calendars
Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness files, and evidence
Support attorneys throughout the litigation lifecycle from case inception through resolution
Client & Witness Coordination
Serve as a professional point of contact for clients, courts, opposing counsel, and third parties
Schedule witness interviews, depositions, and meetings
Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive legal and client information
Provide timely updates and administrative support to attorneys and clients
Qualifications
Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred
Prior experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary, preferably within a litigation practice
Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and litigation documents
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience with legal case management and document management systems preferred
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a law firm environment
Familiarity with e-filing procedures and litigation workflows
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a legal team
Compensation & Benefits
