LHH is seeking a Commercial Litigation Legal Assistant for a well-established law firm in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This role will support attorneys handling a mix of bankruptcy and complex commercial litigation matters.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and litigation support to attorneys in bankruptcy and commercial litigation matters
- Draft, format, and finalize legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence
- Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling hearings, depositions, mediations, and client meetings [
- Coordinate filings in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts, including electronic filing systems
- Maintain and organize case files (physical and electronic) and track key deadlines
- Prepare deposition materials, trial binders, exhibits, and other supporting documentation
- Communicate with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel as needed
- Assist with billing entries, timekeeping, and general administrative support
Qualifications- 3+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant in litigation and/or bankruptcy
- Experience supporting bankruptcy proceedings and familiarity with related filings and documentation preferred
- Strong understanding of court procedures and deadlines (state, federal, and bankruptcy courts)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software; e-filing experience required
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while supporting a team
