General Liability Paralegal

Location: Iselin, NJ
Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site
Salary: $70,000-$85,000

A well-established law firm in Iselin, NJ is seeking an experienced General Liability Paralegal to join its growing legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background supporting New York defense litigation matters and be comfortable independently managing discovery, medical records, court filings, case research, and litigation deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare subpoenas and independently review and summarize discovery responses and medical records.
• Coordinate Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs), including scheduling, notices, confirmations, gathering records, and producing documentation.
• Calendar and monitor litigation deadlines while maintaining consistent follow-up.
• Prepare motions to compel, motions for sanctions, motions for extraordinary relief, and motions to enforce subpoenas.
• Conduct verdict, docket, social media, and background searches.
• Provide comprehensive litigation support in a high-volume defense environment. [RE: Update | Outlook]

Qualifications

• Paralegal Certificate or Bachelor's Degree required.
• 5+ years of New York defense paralegal experience required.
• Prior experience handling New York cases required; New Jersey case experience is preferred.
• Experience with NYCHA/E-Track, NJ eCourts, and PACER preferred.
• Experience with commercial motor vehicle defense, UM/UIM, premises liability, construction accidents, and product liability is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, ProLaw, Excel, and electronic document management systems preferred.
• Excellent organizational, communication, time-management, and follow-up skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.

Compensation: $70,000-$85,000, based on experience and qualifications.
