NewGen provides services to a network of skilled nursing and long‑term care facilities committed to delivering compassionate care and enriching the lives of our residents.Position SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Legal Assistant‑Paralegal (Litigation) to join our legal team. This role will provide comprehensive support to the General Counsel in managing a diverse range of litigation matters with a focus on healthcare and employment matters. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience working at a litigation law firm in a senior role and possess strong organizational and communication skills, a solid understanding of legal principles. Direct experience in healthcare and/or employment law is preferred but not required.ResponsibilitiesManage litigation matters, including case filings, discovery, and trial preparation.Coordinate with external counsel, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.Conduct legal research on relevant state and federal laws and regulations.Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence.Maintain organized case files and litigation databases.Ensure compliance with state regulations related to long‑term care facilities in California, Nevada, and Washington.Assist with internal investigations and regulatory inquiries.Track deadlines and manage the litigation calendar.Prepare and analyze legal documents and reports.Other duties as assigned by the General Counsel.QualificationsParalegal certificate from an accredited institution.Bachelor's degree preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal.Experience in healthcare law or long‑term care preferred.Experience in employment and labor law preferred.Strong understanding of legal research principles and methodologies.Proficiency in technology, legal software, and Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational and time‑management skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.Equal Opportunity EmployerAll qualified applicants will be considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, national origin, veteran or disability status, or any other characteristic protected by law.Pay Transparency StatementCompensation for roles varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the location, role, skill set and level of experience.
