Sieben Ranch Company operating in Wolf Creek, MT, has an opening for a Livestock Herder. Duties include: Attend to livestock on the open range and ranch property to ensure animal health and safety. Herd livestock to and from seasonal grazing areas; monitor forage conditions and move animals as needed. Attend to pregnant livestock and newborn offspring; detect and treat birthing problems, injuries, and diseases. Brand, tag, clip, or mark animals for identification. Feed and water livestock and working animals (horses and dogs); provide mineral supplements and spray livestock with insecticides. Protect livestock from predators and environmental hazards. Assist with castration, weed control, and general herd health activities. Maintain and repair fences, corrals, water troughs, handling facilities, and related equipment. Operate and maintain ranch machinery and vehicles (tractors, UTVs, ATVs) for herding, feeding, and hauling. During winter and drought conditions, haul water, break ice, and maintain supply wagons for shelter and feeding; ensure adequate feed and water for livestock and working stock at camp. Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including exposure to extreme temperatures, insects, and wildlife.Minimum Requirements: One (1) year of experience herding or caring for livestock.
